Ok, this is the race we've all been tapering for. The race to end all races.
So what are my predictions? Well, I know that it'll be a tough double for everyone who is doing the Journal Games the next day, but at least the important race is first.
Predictions:
1st place - Dayna Lindskoog (She can beat the entire distance group in 300 repeats, so it'll be an easy win in the jeans 400)
2nd place - Brian Torrance (He's the defending Champ, and he's been tapering for this race since cross country season... so watch out!)
3rd place - Ian Manyfingers (Shows up in "MC Hammer" pants, and the excessively baggy pants take out 3 different runners on the first corner alone. A massive kick gets him the last medal)
4th place - Kim Vos (After beating Joel in a 100m time trial, she pulls out the double, and takes him in the 400m as well)
5th place - Sean Macdonald (In the surprise upset of the day, Sean beats out Mackenzie Page, who claims to be resting up for the Journal Games 800m.)
Others to watch for:
- Adrian Lambert - DQ'd for not owning a pair of jeans
- Glen Playfair - Doesn't beat many people, but still managed to get Robbie Nissen at the line to redeem himself from being outkicked by Robbie in the warm up of CIS 2004.
- Brian Roppelt - Is in last place with 200m to go, but somehow passes 100 people in the last straight.
- Jason Carver - Shocks everyone by spliting 19.99s for the first 200m, but his calves fall off on the second turn, and yet he hangs on to finish just ahead of Glen.

i am flattered to be seeded in the top five but i will likely lose out on lack of experience. closest thing i have ever done to a jeans 400 is a hungover long run in my halloween costume.

I've been practicing for the Jeans 400m. Today I did a tempo workout for 12 minutes running. Than I did a fartleg 5 minutes. Actaully it was to Cacth the BUS if that counts. I even do a 2 minute morning run. Also for cacthing the Bus. So I probable will log about 6-7 miles this Week running in Jeans. What is your Jean training like??? anyone?

I am totally bummed out that I'm going to be miss the Jeans 400 (again!). I'll be leaving for a work trip to Vancouver later on this morning and will not be flying back until Friday night. Have a great race denim racers. I'm putting my money on anyone wearing Wrangler Jeans. When I was a kid, if you wore Wranglers, you had better be a good runner (to avoid getting a beating). Somebody please take pictures and send them to me for the Album. Have a great week.

I predict roppelt misses the race while busy at home deciding which smiley faces to put into his next message board composition.
don't discount traversing the bleachers, solid workout.

are you racing also Ropedawg? Hey Torrence dont listen to that.... as the defending champion of the Jeans 400m, anyone can run but can they run fast with jeans on. It's one of those prerace predictions that is not realistic. Just like the Vancouver Canucks making the Playoffs this year...... If there is one thing that can be predicted its the flames being in the Playoffs. Thats because they have clinched a spot already. That's what keepin it realz is all about. Go FLAMES GO .......GO Torrence GO.....

first of all, I think we should all wonder about the credibility of anyone who uses multiple smileys in a post. and second, if there's one thing I learned about junior track meets its that you CAN train for one week and demolish everyone (hence everyone and their dog's pB of 11 seconds (hand-timed of course) in the 100m in grade 9) - so torrance should actually be the favorite. my prediction - is that IAN will take the victory since he is the only one who knows how to properly lube up with vaseline before a workout

Top 3 Jeans 400m Predictions GOLD The one and only Torrence successfully defends his title, In an Unbelievable kick that puts him from last to first. SILVER RopeDawg enters the race pumped up from “Mellow”. Knows this Race is in the bag…"I'm predicting a big win from me and everybody else will suck" Roppelt..........all he has to do is sit and Kick. In the last 15 meters he turns on Hyper drive and stairs down Robbie at the Line only to be passed by Torrence on the Inside unknowingly. In huge upset he get the silver. BRONZE Robbie determined to win, has a plan to gain an advantage. Since he is the head official, he also controls the gun. Starts the race after he has ran 10 meters in front while also being the only competitor to use blocks. This lets him take the lead easily with an explosive start. In the end Robbie is shocked to see Roppelt over take him while making Smiley Faces to humiliate him. ;D Sean is DQ because he shows up without jeans as his Dad burnt the house down the day before.

jeans 400 was a sucess with ropedawg and Dayna winning the guys and girls races note that carver was absent so he will face "social reprecussions" and a "strong sense of exclusion" according to robbie, also Torrence was missing so he will join carver
;D Ropelt won in 54 seconds a meet record ;D
