I wish I could take some credit for Slanders and Speculation, but it's all Kitz and J-Barr. And most of the stats are from J-Barr. Looks like he didn't look at the Quebec race.
I'm helping with the poll on TnFNorth, and I will admit that I rank U of A well ahead of U of T.
I hear Hack is coming here to take on the Toronto version of me in 10k road race this week. I'm in pretty good shape for Toronto me (I've been consistently splitting 1:17-flat halfs for my bi-weekly 25k long run), but still, it's far cry from the raw fitness from the U of A glory days. There's nothing like 20 killer hill loops to get in shape. Still, I hope to be able to keep Hack in sight out there on Saturday.

10. Alberta – Although they didn’t field their A team at the U of S Open, Alberta has been totally unimpressive so far in 2010. Gone are the glory days of the blue-collared guys who worked hard and played hard. This group got dusted in Saskatchewan and needs to regroup in a hurry if they have any visions of repeating their 2009 heroics. That being said, there are some positive things this team can take away from the early season meets. They have been so bad that most other Canwest teams are probably counting them down and out. If there’s anywhere in Canada that knows about being at the bottom of the rankings list, it’s Edmonton. Can Da Bears regroup the way Tambellini has with the Hall, Eberle and Paajarvi acquisitions?
Wow, if that doesn`t get you guys fired up, nothing will...

In Harry's defence he did have 6 beers, 1 Smirnoff Ice and 5 miles in his Wineman. Looking back Harry could have treated the Smirnoff as a one of his beers. The rules state that coolers are also acceptable provided they are above 5% alcohol by volume. I think a race report should be posted on the Wineman thread.

A race report should also be posted on the MacClean's comments section.

I really wished I had known that during the race. Really.

I would like to highlight the two lines that made me grin:
"Gone are the glory days of the blue-collared guys who worked hard and played hard." Note: I disagree with this one as the current crop probably train harder, some guys play harder (wine coolers at the Wineman Moore? What did they do to you in Europe this summer?).
If there’s anywhere in Canada that knows about being at the bottom of the rankings list, it’s Edmonton. Note: I would pay top dollar to watch the Oilers play against the Moose right now.
Keep plugging away boys, it'll come. Hard work always pays off.
