CIS is just over a week away there needs to be a thread for trash talk.
-will adrian suprise us and toe the line?
-is majock going to be in quebec wearing a red singlet?
-wiebe FTW?
-can the bears pull it together for a Canwest W?
-will G Law make it past half an hour into the after party?

It's hard to have trash talk when the board is only one team, but I'll do my part as the guy on the U of T team.
1) will adrian surprise us and toe the line? - You'll have to just wait and see.
2) is majock going to be in quebec wearing a red singlet? - If he ran for U of C at Stewart Cup, why not? Anyone have any idea how he's doing in school?
3) wiebe FTW? - I have been enthusiastic about this Wiebe character's chances, but after some reflection, I admit it's not very likely he'll win, especially with Genest, Gerych and others running so well (although I doubt someone from OUs will win, although I could be wrong). Hunter seemed to think it was unlikely Wiebe'd be challenging for a medal and I should probably just trust his judgment on that one.
4) can the bears pull it together for a Canwest W? - I sure hope so, but you guys'll have to pull out a big one for the big race. No one seemed to notice Francois was a no-show at Stewart Cup, so you need to use that as the element of surprise. You should have him take out the race hard - it's his home course, he should know it well!
5) will G Law make it past half an hour into the after party? - It will be tough to beat Macdonald's record of worst-ever after party attempt set in 2005.
6) Most importantly, can you beat U of T? - I doubt it. The average age of our team (not including me) is about 23. It's hard to complete with a bunch of Torrance's like us - we're too old and savvy.
7) Half-tights or green shorts? - I see that some people wear black half-tights in races even though that doesn't seem to be the official uniform. What will be worn at CIS?

We're going to have Frank take the after party out hard.
He was busy all last weekend planting seeds in Quebec.
Talk about being ready.
And technically the green shorts everyone was wearing weren't official team uniform either. No one liked the shorts we had so we ordered some new ones off the internet. But there's no chance of seeing me toeing the line in black half tights. Unless I can get my hands on some powerwebs....

I expect Harry to run CIS in manpris after forgetting to pack anything else to run in. I also expect a picture of Harry running in manpris at colour night making his face more red than it was after Aaron's tea bag joke.
I'd trash talk Adrian, but the DNS next to my name at Stewart will keep my comments reserved.

Aaron's tea bag joke was pure comedy.
-will adrian surprise us and toe the line?
Adrian agrees to run for U of T provided that he doesn't have to wear the Blues' singlet because he's convinced it's cursed. Instead he wears his '08 K-100 Lambert Shirt. The gun goes and Lambs takes off leaving the field in his wake. The rest of the country not knowing the prestige that comes with the Lambert shirt lets him go figuring he is some clown who will come back within 2k. Adrian holds on and takes the CIS title in his final year. Unfortunately he gets himself and U of T DQed for not wearing a team uniform. In addition, Lambert Intellectual Property Law receives a huge fine for failing to advertise in both of Canada's Official Languages. Unable to pay, L.I.P.L. is forced to let go a young patent agent named Robbie Nissen who is in turn forced to go back to school to expand his career options. He returns to the U of A and leads the Bears to greatness.
Inspired by Nissen's accomplishments Sean Macdonald returns to full time training with the goal of taking the 2010 Wednesday Night Series, after two quick wins his form drops sharply and in shame he leaves for exile in Taiwan. Wait...that part already happened.

I forgot my final prediction; Gram misteriously disapears from the after party after being seen with a Gin wielding cougar.

wouldnt it be more appropriate to wear the '07 K-100 Lambert shirt that way the "prestige" is a little bit less controversial...

Well fellas, this is a CIS thread so here's some CIS banter. Word on the street is Victoria will no longer rain supreme in CanWest Cross Country. They are over-ranked. Any guesses for who just may be going to get that banner come Saturday? I'll give you three, but you're only going to need one.

I meant reign, not rain. Sorry.

The Canwest battle should be quite exciting and I feel there is still a lot of questions up in the air...... Victoria is ranked number 4 in cis (very questionable), I sense that ranking may take a huge hit come race day. Will the magic man from calgary (aka Nyial majcock) show up? Can Kelly Wiebe continue his streak of great racing? However, my biggest concern is if anyone can hang with this new team from regina in the after party. Every time I'm spoken to Darren Mazzei he's preached the evils of alcohol so I'm automatically counting Victoria out. Manitoba has lost key partier's such as Maverick and Hunter so inexperience may be an issue. Calgary.......... I just dunno if they have it in them. This leaves just Edmonton. Heres to kicking bum in the race and getting bombed after

Alright, this is what we need, get some buzz going.
Technically I think Victoria's Reign ended last year when they beat by both Calgary and Manitoba. Either way this is the last year for both Martinson and Logan so this could be their last chance to pull something out.
I'm putting the favorite hat on Regina right now, metaphorically that is. So far they've been the best five deep and Wiebe's a legit number one man. Their first trip to CIS in a few years could be a memorable one, but have they saved their best for last? Watch out for rookie Fyfe before the race though, don't let him have too much fun reacquainting with his old buddies from Quebec or he could be a little foggy headed come game time.
Da Bears will be ready to go. I don't want to reveal our top secret plan or anything but we're coming to play.
With regards to the after party, our number one late night man Hack picked himself up a nice new jacket just for this occasion so you know he'll be looking good and ready tie one one, although part of me can't shake the feeling that somehow he'll end the evening in Hobo pants...
And MacD, I'm still waiting for a defense of your '05 after party performance.

Rumour has it the whole Bears Team went under 4:10 for the mile on Monday in preparation for CIS.
I'd hate to be any team that has to face them Saturday.

Update: In Quebec. Weather is cool and rainy, it could be mucky tomorrow. No sign of the Cougars but Dale Wig was apparently on this computer before me judging by the Hotmail login. Checking out the course in an hour.
Morale is high and we are fuelled up with authenic Quebec BBQ Chicken.
Hackenbrook still has his pants.
Go Bears
